Work with one of Australia's most prominent property developers. Launching into an exciting venture of Build-to-Rent be a part of a new journey and take ownership of the first asset of many on this company's new journey.
The Property Accountant will initially focus on the first asset in the portfolio. You will be paramount in the establishment of the financial systems and procedures across the project and corporate joint venture level.
As the first finance team member to join this asset, you will be involved in the go-live of their Property Management & CRM software, implementation of Chart of Accounts, and introducing and standardising reporting templates and finance processes and procedures across the team.
This role offers significant growth opportunities within the business as the portfolio grows, and as you prove your capabilities and excel in this key role.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial and project accounting, P&L management, budgeting and bank account management at an asset level
- Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable and reconciliations
- Preparation of month-end reporting including all necessary GL reconciliations
- Responsible for the accurate monthly lodgement of BAS and assist with compliance of regulatory and financier accounting requirements
- Assist with Portfolio reporting to the board
- Assist with reviewing leases, targeted rents, building efficiency, insurance and general commercial reviews of assets and portfolio
- Drive the go-live of Yardi, implementation of Chart of Accounts, standardising reporting templates and finance processes and procedures across the business
Skills And Experience
- CPA or CA qualification or working towards.
- 3 + years of accounting experience, with exposure to property management is desirable
- Understanding/desire to grow knowledge of general tax implications of BTR – GST, land tax, etc.
- Ambitious self-motivated and can evolve and grow with the business.
- Clear and articulate communication skills coupled with an ability to distil complex financial information succinctly.
